How do I find work?

At the highest level, here’s how finding projects through Facet works:

  1. Find a job you want by searching jobs or reviewing job matches on the Facet app

  2. Submit an application

  3. Meet with a Director of Talent to learn more about the job

  4. Meet with the client for interviews

  5. Sign the contract

  6. Start work

Seems simple! Let’s take a closer look.

In Detail

Facet’s Directors of Talent are always finding new work opportunities for Facet members. Our team meets with every potential client to ensure they will pay their bills, are comfortable with the rates Facet members typically charge, and that the type of work is a good fit for our members.

If the client passes our screening process, we help them create a job posting and share it to our network via the Facet app job board. You can use the job search feature to be automatically matched with open positions (just make sure your job search is turned on!)

When you find a job that you are interested in, submit your application and a Director will reach out to you to tell you more about the job and answer any questions you have.

If there’s a mutual fit and you decide that you’d like to move forward, we will arrange interviews with the client. There may be multiple Facet members interviewing for the job, so make sure you put your best foot forward and prepare accordingly.

The actual interview process is determined by the client. It may be a simple phone call, or it might be a few hours of interviews. We ask our clients to limit the entire interview process to 4 hours maximum and to not use coding tests like LeetCode.

Once the client is sold on you and excited to have you working for them, we will confirm your hourly rate with the client. You will have to set your preferred rate with your Facet Director of Talent before you begin interviewing. For the service that Facet provides, we charge clients a fixed 20% service fee on top of your hourly rate; this incentivizes us to maximize what you get paid.

Before you can start your new project, the contract details will be finalized; the client signs a contract with Facet, and Facet signs a contract with you.
